The Brick Returns
My old friend writer's block shows up again. Plus, a garden update and more Oklahoma news.
Brick
Oh, joy. The brick is back on my desk, which can only mean one thing: my writer's block is back. This hefty hunk of hardened red clay is the physical representation of my writing frustrations. It often manifests itself on my desk during times of stress, when I lack mental focus, or when I’m just out of ideas.
So, I sit and stare at the brick. Its solid presence stares back at me.
Okay, brick, let’s work through this. What caused you to manifest this time?
More later. Time to think.
Garden Update
The Oklahoma weather is finally cooperating. So, I spent most of the weekend working out in the yard, mowing, weeding, cutting up old tree limbs, and picking up all the trash that blew into our yard. Even though it was time-consuming and exhausting, it was a very relaxing way to spend a weekend.
Donna started planting in our garden spaces. In the keyhole garden, she’s planted onions, shallots, lettuce, spinach, beats, and other herbs. We have tomatoes, basil, and cilantro in other beds and pots around our yard, and we plan to add garlic, radish, cucumber, okra, watermelon, and cantaloupe.
You can follow our garden’s progress on the Blog Oklahoma YouTube channel.
Have you started your garden yet?

I accidentally left out a small bit of information about Harmon County, Oklahoma. It was named after Ohio Governor Judson Harmon https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Judson_Harmon
Last week was just not my week to write.
