Oklahoma Governor Stitt delivers his 2024 State of the State address to a joint session of the Oklahoma Legislature
State of the State

Monday, February 5, 2024, marks the beginning of the 2024 regular legislative session as Governor Kevin Stitt presented his agenda to a joint session of the Oklahoma Legislature in his sixth State of the State address.
You can read his entire address here.
Here are some highlights of what I gathered while listening to the address:
Starts off by saying the way to end poverty is to graduate high school, get a job, and get married before having children. Blames single mothers for poverty and having to use government services.
He then returns to his Top 10 State talking points—less government, less regulations, and even more business-friendly.
He wants to form a business court that focuses on business legal issues.
He wants the income tax rate reduced even more and eventually eliminate the tax altogether.
He praises the school choice tax credit. He then uses a single mother as an example of its success.
He wants more career tech schools, charter schools, and more “workforce ready” focused education at all levels.
He wants to end or reform civil forfeiture in the state.
He mentions the southern U.S. border and his support for Texas.
And it’s back to McGirt. (Note: The tribal leaders in the audience did not look happy)
He ends his address by promoting his religious beliefs and encourages the legislature to do the same.
What did you think of the Governor Stitt’s 2024 State of the State address?
Another Election Day
On Tuesday, February 13, 2024, it will be time for Oklahomans to head to the polls again. This time, it’s the all-important school board primaries with a few local seats and proposals. Fifty-seven counties will have something on the ballot. Please visit the Oklahoma Voter Portal to see if you need to vote and to view a sample ballot.
Remember, there are no small elections. I might even go as far as to say that school board elections are essential to participate in. Please go vote.

I missed the Democratic response after Gov. Stitt's address. Here's a replay of it on Facebook:
