More Code and Singing Croatians
Taking some time to watch Eurovision.
It’s been yet another busy week here at the small cold dark north facing windowless office, and It looks like I’ll be working on this client project for the rest of the month. So, I’m going to be staying busy for a bit. It’s been nice working on an application again. I was getting kind of burnt out on building WordPress client websites. Not to say I don’t enjoy building sites; I do. It was just the same thing every day for a few months there.
Anyway. How was your week?
Did you get to watch the Eurovision Song Contest on Saturday? If so, what did you think of this year’s songs? If you haven’t, you can still watch it on Peacock or find clips on YouTube.
I won’t spoil who won, but here are my top five:
I enjoy watching Eurovision every year, and I’m someone who doesn’t like shows like American Idol or The Voice. It’s been nice that Peacock has been broadcasting it in the US these last few years. I used to hook up my laptop to my TV, fire up the VPN, and watch European feeds.
It was another enjoyable show this year, slightly overshadowed by the war in Ukraine. Usually, the winning country gets to host the show. Ukraine won last year. With everything going on there, the show was moved to the UK.
There were some stand-out songs, but also a lot of the same. The similar-sounding Euro-pop, outright silliness, and genuinely odd.
