Running this newsletter is fun.  The only tricky part is finding something clever to say here at the top.  Drawing a complete blank this morning.  I’ve gone to that filing cabinet in my mind where I keep my newsletter ideas and the stupid thing is locked.  I have no idea where I put the keys either.  I guess I’m going to have to go back to last week to see where I left them.  Great.

In the meantime, I’ll have to visit the little magic 8-ball for writing ideas I have at Blog Oklahoma.  To randomize this a bit more, let me roll a D-20 and click refresh that many times. Six.

  1. Give some tips about your favorite word processor.

  2. Do a review of the last movie you watched.

  3. Write a letter to your 16-year-old self.

  4. Write a PC / Mac / Linux / Android how-to.

  5. I've seen things you wouldn't believe.

  6. Write a review of the last restaurant you went to.

A restaurant review it is.

Don’t worry, it’ll be short because the last restaurant I went to was Scooter’s Coffee.

Scooter’s Coffee

A quick breakfast at my desk.

A few mornings ago, before work, I drove up to Scooter’s Coffee’s big easy-to-read drive-thru menu and ordered a large dark-brewed coffee and a spicy sausage burrito. I was greeted by a friendly girl at the drive-thru window who handed me my order in a timely manner.

The coffee was still warm by the time I got to the office.  It was smooth and flavorful.  The burrito was tasty and hit the spot for a quick breakfast at my desk.

Out of five stars, I give the coffee 4, the burrito 3, and the service 5.

This Week

This week will be much like the last. Working on the next episode of the podcast. If the weather is nice work in the backyard. I’ve got a winter's worth of garbage that’s blown in I need to get cleaned up. I have a new programming project I may work on, but I’ll have to make time to dig through some documentation before I can commit to it. Watch the Blog Oklahoma Projects Board for updates.

More Later. Time to find those keys.

Listening In

I was a bit eclectic in my music this past week. It was a mix of Vaporwave, Fierce Femmes, Genesis, and Radio Paradise.

I finished Ringworld by Larry Niven on Audible this weekend. A really good sci-fi story, but it ends abruptly. I haven't picked out my next Audible book yet. I'm tempted to reread Hyperion by Dan Simmons. So many books, so little time.
