Update
Sorry, there wasn’t a newsletter yesterday. Last night we had to clean up our kitchen.
Catastrophic can failure is real.
An old, forgotten, large can of pears on the back of a shelf exploded. It not only blew stuff clear across the room, but it also blew a hole in the shelf. There were nasty fermented pears on the ceiling, walls, curtains, and containers stored on lower shelves. We had multiple sink fulls of dishes to wash.
Oddly, though, the kitchen smelled like old cobbler and stale beer.
We worked on the mess, and I think we got it mostly cleaned up. Our biggest concern was and is contamination. The last thing we need is a case of botulism. Not only did we wash, but we also decontaminated with bleach and Lysol.
Fun times.
I’d share pictures, but to be honest, it’s gross. It’s also a little embarrassing to have forgotten about a large can of pears and not notice it was swelling up to the point of popping explosively. Not only have we lost a shelf, but we've also lost a couple of shelves' worth of packaged foods that were soaked in a dark grey fermented goo.
I would suggest to everyone who has a pantry with canned goods to check on the cans and jars in the back. Do this regularly. Not only would you save food, but you’ll save yourself from being scared to death by the loud pop and crash coming from the kitchen.

Militia targets Oklahoma weather radars? (News 9 YouTube) [Short]
Can you believe David Payne had to go on the air and tell people that radar doesn’t control the weather? Everyone knows it's chemtrails and space lasers. Duh.😜
