Wow today is a Monday. First thing this morning I was greeted with an inbox full of spam in Outlook. Apparently, Microsoft’s spam filter was offline. The more spam I would remove, the more would show up. It made for an annoying and slightly stressful morning for sure.

Great Backyard Bird Count

The Great Backyard Bird Count was this weekend. Saturday was a bust. Its was overcast cold and very windy. Even the ever-present ally cats were no where to be found.

Sunday was a much nicer day. I stood at our backdoor with a dry eraser and marked down each bird that would fly into view. In total I counted 20 birds in the fifteen-minute window. Blue jays and Mourning Doves made their appearance. I still need to identify the medium to smaller brown birds, but they were likely a collection of Sparrows, Wrens, Cowbirds, and maybe Starlings.

Did you participate in the Great Backyard Bird Count? If so, what did you count?

This Week

This week will be much like the last. Work on the next podcast episode and continue to clean out the junk room. Please feel free to watch Blog Oklahoma Mastodon and Trello board for updates on these projects.

More later. Time to look at bird mugshots.

Listen In

It's always enjoyable to discover some new rock. I listened to a couple new albums this week on Spotify, Desire, I Want To Turn Into You by Caroline Polachek and This Is Why by Paramore and discovered even more new stuff with the All New Rock playlist.

Over the weekend I started Ring World by Larry Niven on Audible. Listening to an audio book makes the time cleaning out our junk room not seem like such a chore.

This one was a bit rushed. Sorry about that. The Outlook spam set the tone for the morning. I ended up doing much more day job work that was originally schedule for a Monday morning. I was hoping to have some time to properly ID some of the birds this morning. Just didn't work out that way. I hope your Monday wasn't so eventful.
