A Little Update On What’s Going On
I love being busy but I'm looking forward to the upcoming three-day weekend.

A Little Update On What’s Going On
My apologies for missing last week’s newsletter. By a quirk of either the stars aligning a certain way or having more than one of my client’s funding calendars come up, I have found myself working on multiple projects all at once. Time has just gotten away from me. Unfortunately, it will be this way for a few more weeks.
Well, I say unfortunate, but not really. I love being busy. I’m working for some great clients on some interesting coding and web development projects. This means all my side projects and hobbies get put on hold for a bit. This includes most of the things I do for Blog Oklahoma, you know, things like this newsletter or my morning news posting on Mastodon, Threads, and Bluesky.
Now, I’ve managed to wrangle the herd of cats that has been my schedule for the last two weeks into something a little more normal-looking. This has freed up a little more time for my side projects. Still, my job entails a lot of thinking, planning, scheduling, coding, editing, data entry, writing emails, waiting for replies to those emails, and having to do it all over again when things inevitably change. For someone who sits for a living, I’m exhausted by the time I get home.
During weeks like this, when I get home, I have enough time to cook dinner and maybe watch some mindless TV with Donna before she heads off to work (she’s on the night shift), and then I call it a day. It really doesn’t lend itself much time or mental energy to creative writing for things like a newsletter, podcast, or anything else.
Though it might sound like so, I have no complaints whatsoever. If I’m tired after a long productive day at work, that’s a good tired to be. I’m sure many of you out there can relate.
I am looking forward to the upcoming three-day weekend, though.
More later. Time to get back to work.
Memorial Day
Memorial Day is next Monday. I hope you all have an enjoyable three-day weekend at the traditional beginning of summer. I know we all could do with a good break.
However, please don’t forget the reason for Memorial Day and take a moment on Monday to remember and honor those who lost their lives while defending our country.
Newsletter Update
Due to Memorial Day, the Blog Oklahoma Newsletter will not be published on Monday, May 27th. The newsletter will return on Monday, June 3rd.
Oklahoma Primary
This is a reminder that Oklahoma's primary election is on Tuesday, June 18, 2024. You must be registered to vote to participate in this election by Friday, May 24, 2024, and you only have until Monday, June 3, 2024, to request an absentee ballot. This will be the primary election for federal, state, and county officers. You can get more information about this or any upcoming election at the Oklahoma State Election Board.
