15 Years of Podcasting
Though not as consistent as it once was, the Blog Oklahoma Podcast is still here.
The Blog Oklahoma Podcast
The end of May had a significant anniversary that I almost missed. Fifteen years ago, on May 30, 2008, I published the first episode of the Blog Oklahoma Podcast. It was a simple update about the Blog Oklahoma website. You can read the show notes of that first episode here. Unfortunately, the recording is lost to time. I used a long-shuttered service to record and host that first episode.
Those first episodes sound horrible today. No, that’s not me just being critical of my performance, cringy as it might be. I mean, they sound bad. I was using a borrowed USB headset microphone at the time. I might as well have used a tin can and some string. Ha!
It wasn’t until April 2009 and Episode 25 that I had a good microphone and audio mixer.
Back then I could put out somewhat regular weekly episodes. I do miss the creative time I had then. I even won an award in 2010, the prestigious Okie Blog Award for Best Podcast (2009).
Though not as consistent as it once was, the podcast is still here 15 years later. Isn't that something? Here’s to 15 more years.
This Week
I’m in the final week of that large project I’ve been working on. So please keep your fingers crossed that I can return to working on the podcast again next week! I’m really looking forward to it.
More later. Time to code.

This is the second time this has happened. A video has gone private after newsletter publication. The video "Overland Landscape Photography Expeditions With The New Nissan Frontier and Go Fast Camper" has been pulled by the author. Not sure why.
I couldn't figure out how to put captions on the pictures in the gallery. The first row is the various logos for the podcasts over the years. The next row shows the old USB Headset Microphone I started with, plus some early recording sessions. The bottom row shows two podcasting buddies, FB and Baby (I miss them), and a session in my old home office.
